Welcome home Nelmac firefighters – Front page news

Date: January 27, 2013By: NELMAC MarketingEnvironment, Nelson

Front page news! We’re proud to welcome home our Nelmac team members who have been firefighting in Australia. Four Nelmac team members were sent to Australia as part of a Waimea Rural Fire Authority contingent supporting the Australian fire fighters battling huge blazes. Nelmac volunteer firefighters: Steve Wilkens, David Newton, Stu Saunders and Ashton Oliver arrived back at 8.55pm Wednesday night, very tired and happy to be home. This was a great opportunity to expose our team, who are members of the Waimea Rural Fire Authority, to a large scale fire operation. Not only is a great experience for the individuals, it helps our cousins in Australia at a tragic time. Nelmac as an organisation gains fantastic learning’s in case of a similar event here locally” states Nelmac Chief Executive Lee Babe.
